ROMERO POLO BUILDS THE NEW PRIMARY CARE CENTRE IN LA SEU D’URGELL

Grupo Romero Polo has built the new La Seu d’Urgell Primary Care Centre (CAP, in catalan). It is a sustainable facility that opened its doors this March 2022, and has involved an investment of more than 3 million euros. The new centre incorporates child and youth mental health care, spaces for public health professionals and areas for health education. The company took part in the opening ceremony of the CAP, which was also attended by the Catalan Minister of Health, Josep Maria Argimon.

The facility consists of a new 2.123 square metre building that has been constructed over the course of the pandemic on land donated by City Council. In total, the building consists of a basement, ground floor and two additional floors. The facade is finished with the Exterior Thermal Insulation System (SATE) on the higher floors, while the ground floor is finished with a ventilated façade with fibre cement panels.

In addition, the building is environmentally friendly, as it has a biomass boiler heating system that saves fossil energy and makes emissions into the atmosphere CO2 neutral. This type of boiler consumes local wood from managed forests, which helps the territorial balance, creates local employment and reduces external energy dependence.
