ROMERO POLO TO LEAD THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW IDIADA TEST TRACK FOR CONNECTED AND AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

Applus IDIADA, leading engineering company specializing in design, testing and homologation services to the automotive industry worldwide, has awarded Grupo Romero Polo the works for the first phase of the new CAVII Track (Connected and Autonomous Vehicles II) located in the proving ground of IDIADA, in the industrial estate l’Albornar in Santa Oliva (Tarragona). The contract, signed on 22 July, has an initial duration of 14 months.

The construction of the new test track for connected and autonomous vehicles represents a strategic investment for the future of the automotive industry, and will have a significant economic impact at national level.

The IDIADA centre, inaugurated in 1994, is a testing space with an area of 370 hectares. The company has 12 circuits in which it is allowed the execution of simulations of different behaviours to vehicles in order to analyse the response. The space is available to companies and professionals who are part of the automotive industry.
