ROMERO POLO EXPANDS WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF RIUDELLOTS DE LA SELVA

The public Catalan entity Agència Catalana de l’Aigua (ACA) has awarded Romero Polo, in a joint venture with Aquambiente, the project to remodel the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Riudellots, located in the region of La Selva, in Catalonia. The work consists of the expansion of the current wastewater treatment plant to adapt its capacity to an updated urban and industrial plan.

With a budget of 5.4M euros, Romero Polo and Aquambiente will carry out the construction of new structures, an installation of new equipment, as well as a reshuffle of existing equipment. Through these actions, the current plant will increase its treatment capacity from 1,600 to 2,200 water m³ per day, and will provide service to both Riudellots de la Selva and the neighbouring municipality of Campllong.

The project is planned to end in 15 months and a half, and will be carried out guaranteeing at all times the uninterrupted operation of the plant 24 hours a day.
